Nominate your healthcare heroes
Patients, carers and staff are being given their chance to nominate for our annual Proud Awards.
The Proud Awards recognise and celebrate the people who are dedicated to providing the best care possible for patients. Whether that is on the wards or in community settings, in patients’ own homes or behind the scenes.
Keepmoat are the main event sponsors for the award ceremony. This follows their recent generous donation of £5000 to the Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, which will go towards the new play area for the Children’s Ward. Local companies are being given the opportunity to show their support by sponsoring individual awards.
This year, the Public Recognition Award is sponsored by Bauer Media Audio, who bring you radio stations such as Hallam FM and Greatest Hits Radio. This award is an opportunity to nominate an individual or team who have helped to deliver outstanding healthcare.
Bauer Media Group’s Regional Sales Director for Yorkshire, Melinda Schofield, said: “The Team at Hallam FM and GHR are proud to be part of The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust prestigious Proud Awards, this is an opportunity to celebrate amazing people who provide care for people of Rotherham. For our business to have been invited to support such an initiative is humbling and an honour and we can’t wait to meet all the amazing people on the evening of the awards and celebrate with you all.”
There are 16 categories altogether, including Unsung Hero, Clinical and Non-Clinical Team of the Year, Outstanding Volunteer and Inspiring Leader. There is also a special one-off category this year in honour of the NHS’ 75th birthday, which will highlight an individual’s ‘outstanding contribution to the NHS’.
The celebration will take place on the evening of Friday 9 June at Magna in Rotherham.
The Trust’s colleagues eligible to be nominated for awards deliver services at Rotherham Hospital, Rotherham Community Health Centre, BreathingSpace, Park Rehabilitation Centre and at health centres across the borough. This includes those working in people’s own homes and communities, such as school nurses and district nurses.
To nominate a member of staff for the 2023 Public Recognition Award, simply complete an online nomination or via the Trust’s website.
Please include as much detail as possible, providing the name of the individual or team, where they work, and specific examples of your experience. The closing date for nominations is Thursday 23 March.
