Car parking

Car parks are available at each of our sites, but spaces may be limited. Charges may apply and concessions are available.

Please note

A new car parking system using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) is now in place for the public car park at Rotherham Hospital.

This new system will go live at Rotherham Community Health Centre during the first week of March.

Rotherham Hospital

The main public car park is located directly opposite the main entrance of the hospital. There are more designated spaces available around the site. Charges apply.

You get 30 minutes free to allow for drop offs. Please use the designated pick up and drop off point opposite the hospital's main entrance, situated inside the car park or the drop off point on Baker Street. 

Rotherham Community Health Centre

Limited parking is available at Rotherham Community Health Centre. Charges apply.

BreathingSpace and Park Rehabilitation Centre

Free car parking is available at Breathing Space and Park Rehabilitation Centre with accessible blue badge spaces.

Kimberworth Place

There is a surface level car park with dedicated accessible parking.

How to pay - Rotherham Hospital

There are a number of ways to pay for parking:

  • enter your vehicle registration into one of the payment machines located in the hospital's main entrance or the entrance to the car park 
  • scan the QR code displayed in the car park and at the payment machines
  • call 0330 333 8434 and enter location ID 12199
  • use the Your Parking Space app and enter location ID 12199

How to pay - Rotherham Community Health Centre

We are currently installing a new parking system which will go live during the first week of March. 

There are a number of ways to pay for parking:

  • enter your vehicle registration into one of the payment machines located in entrance to the building 
  • scan the QR code displayed in the car park and at the payment machines
  • call 0330 333 8434 and enter location ID 12357
  • use the Your Parking Space app and enter location ID 12357

Blue badge holders

Blue badge parking is available free of charge at all our sites.

The driver must display a valid blue badge.

To claim your free parking

When leaving our sites, enter your vehicle registration at one of the payment machines. You will need to enter your blue badge number in the discount code box to reduce your charge to zero. You must complete the transaction to confirm the free parking session.

Blue badge holders who use hospital services regularly can register their vehicle by emailing rgh-tr.estates.access@nhs.net with a photo or photocopy of your blue badge.

Concessions

Weekly parking pass

A weekly parking pass is available at a discounted rate for family members or carers who have a loved one in the hospital for more than 7 days.

Free parking pass

Free parking passes are available for:

  • patients who need to attend outpatient appointments 3 or more times a month
  • parents or carers with children who are inpatients
  • cancer patients

Claiming parking concessions

If you qualify for a concession, please ask for a concessionary parking form either from the ward or the Welcome Desk in the hospital's main entrance.

Once this form has been signed by the Ward Sister, please take it to the Welcome Desk who will be able to apply the concessionary rate for your vehicle.

If there is nobody on the Welcome Desk, please contact Security using the intercom on the payment machine. Alternatively, ask a member of staff on the ward to contact Security for you.

If you are eligible for the NHS Low Income Scheme, you may be eligible for the Healthcare Travel Costs Scheme (HTCS).
