Guidance for researchers
All research studies conducted with NHS staff and/or patients as participants require registration with and acknowledgment by The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust Research and Development Department.
Where the Health Research Authority requires formal confirmation of 'Capacity and Capability' by participating NHS organisations in England, the Research and Development Department will facilitate this.
Current research
We conduct research studies of various types e.g. observational, randomised controlled trials, drug studies, device studies funded and sponsored by both commercial companies (pharmaceutical companies) and non-commercial institutions (NHS Trusts and universities). We focus on National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) portfolio research, working with the Yorkshire and Humber Clinical Research Network, but also support locally funded and student research. We have approximately 70 actively recruiting studies at any one time.
