Three peaks, one cause – step up for your NHS charity!
Calling all adventurers! Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity is on the lookout for hikers ready to conquer the Yorkshire Three Peaks and National Three Peaks challenges in 2025.

The thrilling adventures will test your endurance and reward you with breath-taking views and unforgettable memories - all while supporting a fantastic cause.
Led by the experts at Elite Adventures
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge offers a thrilling 24-mile trek through the Yorkshire Dales while the national event involves climbing the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours.
Whether you're a first-time adventurer or seasoned hiker, both challenges will take you through stunning landscapes and promise an experience like no other.
The charity is working with experts at Elite Adventures to guide the challenges. Participants can take advantage of their team of certified mountain leaders and a support vehicle, which acts as a reassuring check point to assist those who help along the way. The support vehicle will also be stocked with snacks, water and plasters!
By lacing up your boots and taking on either trek, you’ll be helping to provide extraordinary care, equipment and experiences that go beyond what the NHS alone can fund.
Join Ashley and tackle the peaks together
For Ashley, from Rawmarsh, signing up to a hiking challenge is more than just a personal goal - it’s a way to give something back to the NHS and thank them for caring for his family. His daughter was born eight weeks prematurely and spent five weeks on the Neonatal Unit at Rotherham Hospital in 2019. He tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 2024.
This year, Ashley is going bigger and bolder and has signed up to take on the epic National Three Peaks Challenge.
He said: “I completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks in 2024 to say thank you to the NHS for caring for my daughter and wife. I also wanted to do something helpful for other families going through what we did. But now I want to build on last year’s event and do something which pushes me even more. I’m not competitive with other people but I love to challenge myself and this event will certainly do that.
“My training includes swimming, core and strength exercises at the gym, cycling and walking. I did a practice hike up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), which I completed in four hours, 15 minutes. Doing that three times in 24 hours will be a huge mental and physical challenge! I enjoy the fact people think this is a crazy challenge as it spurs me on and hopefully people will be inspired to sponsor me.”
