What we do

Here at Rotherham Hospital and Community Charity, we're here to support your local NHS Trust to go above and beyond. While the trust receives core funding from the Government, we’re here to fund vital equipment, services, and projects that go beyond the NHS budget to improve care and patient experience.

We’re here to make sure that the care you and your loved ones receive is the best it can be.

We are your local NHS charity

Supporting the care of patients and their families is at the heart of everything we do. We're here to enhance the care that patients deserve, while empowering our colleagues to continue striving to deliver exceptional care.

It is our promise to:

  • Enhance patient care: We fund initiatives that go beyond standard care, providing extra resources and services that improve the patient experience and promote faster recovery.
  • Support healthcare teams: We invest in the wellbeing and development of our NHS staff, helping them deliver the best possible care through additional resources, equipment and wellbeing programs.
  • Strengthen community health: We engage with and support our local community by supporting health programs, outreach initiatives and events that promote long-term wellbeing for all.

Neonatal Unit

Essential resources, furniture and life-saving equipment within the Neonatal Unit at Rotherham Hospital, providing vital support to premature and poorly babies and their families. Find out more about our Tiny Toes Appeal and the incredible enhancements made to the Neonatal Unit.

Buzzy Bee Pain Relief Bees for the Children's Ward

Busy Bee Pain Relief Bees assist with pain relief when administering needles by combining vibration and ice pain-blocking techniques to ease pain during these distressing times.

Purple Butterfly Room enhancements

The Trust has four beautiful end-of-life rooms. As these rooms are always in use, everyday items naturally become worn over time. The charity has funded enhancements to the rooms including smart TVs, microwaves, sofa beds and day beds to allow families to stay close to their loved ones, kitchen essentials, games, sensory night light projectors and more to keep the rooms in top condition for patients and families.

Legacy and in-memory giving
